Names like "Hopper" and "Hoonigan" have been seen multiple times and appear like bot default names. Players are connecting this message with the appearance of duplicate names on separate teams. Still, for many players, bots are nothing more than incompetent teammates as they tend to become more of a hindrance than a help. Seems like public match bots are possibly being used in the full release. If the lobby was low tier or unskilled enough, even a basic bot would not seem out of place among the game's competitors. An easy solution for filling out a lobby could be to include bots into the match to supplement the player count. With major discussions revolving around skill-based matchmaking, it is not impossible that lower-tier lobbies may struggle to find players. The clip was captured by A_Reddit_ID and showed the prompt of a notification reading "Disabled Bot Autofill." This prompt was apparently triggered as the player was leaving the match suggesting that up until that point, bots may have been involved in the matchmaking process. While these bots are usually left turned off, some games like Fortnite have used them to fill lobbies in the past. It is not uncommon for large games like Call of Duty or Apex Legends to have bots built for training new players. Unsure of exactly what it means, they put it up on Reddit to seek public opinion. As one Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan left a match, they found an interesting prompt pop up at the last minute.
